Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) Awards SR Construction with “2006 Excellence in
Construction Awards”

(Las Vegas)- The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Las Vegas Chapter announced that Las Vegas-based SR Construction were the recipients of several awards for their projects presented to the ABC Chapter for the “2006 Excellence in Construction Awards”.

A panel of judges representing a cross section from the construction industry met to review the various entries received by the ABC Chapter for its 2006 Awards, ABC's annual competition recognizes the "best of the best" in construction projects throughout the Southern Nevada Valley.  

SR Construction received two awards in various categories including commercial projects under $2 million with The Van Epp Companies, a 6,750 square-foot office building. Owner, Daniel C. Van Epp chose the Design/Build method of construction to promote and engage the creative process of the design team and to allow for single-source responsibility to the owner while developing a state-of-the-art building.   

The second award was for commercial projects over $2 million with The Park at Spanish Ridge, a 15 building office park that includes one, two and three story wood frames and concrete tilt-up office buildings ranging from 6,000 to 70,000 SF.  A contemporary architectural style was developed for the single story wood frame buildings which feature an elliptical metal and glass raised entry way which set the tone for the park. 

Projects entered in the ABC Excellence in Construction Awards are divided into a number of different categories, including commercial, institutional, historical renovation, industrial, pre-
engineered building and "mega-projects," or projects over $100 million.
